Cookie Policy

Last updated: 19 May 2026  ·  Version 1.1

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — for example, keeping you signed in, or recording your preferences.

Some cookies are essential for the website to work. Others are optional and used to improve your experience or help us understand how the site is used.

2. How we use cookies

Datumbase uses cookies for two purposes:

  • Authentication — to keep you securely signed in to your account. These cookies are strictly necessary and cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics — to understand how the application is used so we can improve it. These cookies are optional and only set if you choose to accept them.

We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than those listed in this policy. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for Datumbase to function. They allow you to sign in and navigate securely between pages. Without them, the service cannot be provided.

Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, but we are required to tell you about them.

4. Analytics cookies

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand how users interact with the application — for example, which pages are visited most often and where users encounter problems. This helps us prioritise improvements.

Analytics cookies are only set after you have given consent using the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies will be placed and PostHog operates in memory-only mode (no data persists between sessions).

6. Managing your cookies

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing your cookies for this site. The cookie banner will re-appear on your next visit.

To clear cookies for datumbase.tech only:

  • Chrome:Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data → search "datumbase" → Delete
  • Firefox:Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search "datumbase" → Remove
  • Safari:Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search "datumbase" → Remove

You can also use browser settings to block all cookies, but note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to Datumbase.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if our cookie usage changes materially — for example, if we introduce analytics or any new third-party tools that set cookies. When we make a material change, we will increment the policy version and re-show the consent banner so you can make an informed choice.

Minor updates (e.g. formatting or clarifications) will not trigger a new consent request.
